Training Course

Black and White photography is still the favourite for many professionals because it allows the photographer to focus purely on the light, the shapes, the shadows and the interactions between them.

At London Academy the tutor will work with you taking you on a fascinating ride, starting with the black empty scenario in which you start to experiment with lights, models, objects, building your understanding about the interaction with each other.

The tutor: Anastasia Trahanas is a professional photographer with over 15 years experience of photographic assignments. Her work has included working within the advertising industry for 7 years, and has also worked with the British Red Cross, as well numerous other charities, as well as personal projects in Greece, Australia, India and the Amazon.

It is a field that is equally useful for both professionals and beginners. It allows the photographer to gain a solid expertise in the creation of atmospheres with light, its measurement, the secrets of composition and much more without having to worry about colour.

At the end of this course you will have the knowledge that will serve you for many years in both the black and white and the colour fields, as in both of them a solid expertise in light and composition is essential, and this can be gained specially well by studying the fascinating world of black and white photography.
