| Architecture in the City of London |
James Bartholomew produced an acclaimed photographic book, ‘The City of London’, in association with the City of London Corporation, in their 8ooth year. Blending a mix of the old and new architecture classically in black and white in his book, James now knows the City intimately, and has given photographic workshops for many years. |
This one-day Sunday workshop is designed for capable amateur photographers with an interest in developing skills in interpreting architecture. Meeting in the middle of the City of London on the quietest day of the week, we can enjoy some of the world’s best architecture to practice on, with most of the City to ourselves! |
Taking old and new examples, James will show techniques on areas from Leadenhall market, and period architecture of Christopher Wren, to some of the most modern pieces of City buildings including the new Swiss life building. Using the buildings for projects, James will demonstrate a series of techniques, using a digital camera with a laptop display, which students can practice afterwards as a series of assignments. James will take the group on a specific tour that is designed to show off the best buildings that the City has to offer. |

Groups meet outside Bank Underground station at 10am, and classes last until 4pm, with an hour’s break for lunch. Please bring all useful accessories and appropriate attire. Workshop will not be cancelled due to bad weather. |
